Baseball Memorabilia Collecting - Teaching Baseball To A Youngster - These Are Things I Love

Hello Again,

This blogging is interesting. You can take it anywhere you want. I played baseball or
softball into my 40's. I had some great coaches that I really looked up to. I learned the art
of the game from them and how to be a gracious winner as well as loser. I also learned
later in life that I enjoyed coaching kids and passing on my love for the game.

My favorite team is the Detroit Tigers as I am from Michigan. I once, when I was 18,
had a tryout scheduled in Florida with the Detroit Tigers to see if I could at least make
it to the minor leagues and possibly higher. Sadly, a week before I was supposed to go there,
I broke my wrist in a bad motorcycle accident. I had been drinking. I lost that opportunity
and it never came back. I broke my right wrist which was my throwing arm. As I said in a
previous post, I was a curveball pitcher and a screwball pitcher. Both pitches require a
sharp snapping of the wrist either left or right. After the accident and the surgery to
piece my wrist back together, I lost the ability to throw a good curve or any other
"junkball". I lost my dream from drinking and riding a motorcycle. I have passed
that on to many kids. Hopefully it stuck.

I occasionally run across good products that can teach kids certain aspects of the
game and will pass them on to you. I also see good team stuff on sales sometimes
and will pass them on also. I only send good stuff. Stuff I have bought and used myself.
One thing I love about baseball for youngsters is the fact it doesn't tear your body
up like football or soccer. Soccer kills the knees eventually.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the post and will write more later. Any question for me,
just post them and I will try and answer them.

Thanks,
Screwball Pitcher
